Professor Meaghan O’Donnell discusses trauma and resilience on the MHPN Presents podcast

The Mental Health Professionals Network (MHPN) has a new podcast called MHPN Presents. A three-episode series on trauma and resilience explores the experience of and awareness of trauma and its relationship with mental health, and also resilience – what it means, how it works, and how we can cultivate it in our lives.

In the first of the three episodes, Trauma, a history, Professor Meaghan O’Donnell, Head of Research at Phoenix Australia, joins host Professor Mark Creamer and Professor Alexander McFarlane AO, an international expert in traumatic stress, disasters, and military and veteran mental health, and an honorary Professorial Fellow at Phoenix Australia.

Together they explore what constitutes a traumatic event and the development of posttraumatic mental health problems in the context of neurobiological, psychological, social and cultural mechanisms.

The second and third episodes will be released fortnightly.
